Voice Assist and Jabra Form Partnership for Complete Hands-Free Solutions

By Rajani Baburajan, TMCnet Contributor

Hosted speech services provider Voice Assist announced partnership with GN Netcom, a company known for its Jabra brand of headsets, to combine Voice Assist (News - Alert) cloud-based speech platform and services with Jabra Bluetooth headsets and in-car speakerphones.

The combined offering will deliver complete hands-free solutions to customers and enterprise users. It will increase their productivity using any mobile phone or IP-connected device such as iPhone Blackberry, Android (News - Alert) phones, iPad and other tablets, company officials said.

“Hands-free communication is no longer a thing of the future; it's here and we are excited to be at the forefront of the industry,” said Jonas Forsberg, general manager, North America, GN Netcom (News - Alert), in a statement.  “By combining our wireless headsets and speakerphone options with Voice Assist's technology, we are offering customers a simple, convenient way to truly go hands-free.”

The partnership will also offer a perfect hands-free driving solution when paired with Jabra's (News - Alert) speakerphones like the upcoming Jabra FREEWAY. The solution will enable the users to make calls, send or respond to text messages and e-mails, or post to social networks such as Facebook (News - Alert) and Twitter, all by voice.

Jabra devices features one-button access and provide high quality noise and echo cancellation technology. Voice Assist enables customers and enterprise users to use simple voice commands to be more productive yet safer while driving.

“This is a great solution for everyone with a mobile lifestyle, enabling hands-free communications including texting, e-mailing and social networking with co-workers, family and friends,” said Michael Metcalf, CEO of Voice Assist, in a statement.

The products will be available as single or as a bundled solution. Bundled products will be offered through multiple direct and indirect sales channels.

Both Voice Assist and Jabra have already been partners to offer a product specifically designed for salespeople and mobile workers using Salesforce.com's Chatter

At this year’s Mobile World Congress, Jabra unveiled its latest Bluetooth headset, Jabra STONE2, which combines innovative design and advanced functionality, plus the all-new Jabra FREEWAY, which is set to revolutionize the speakerphone market.
