Headsets: Boingo, T-Mobile Bring WiFi to Airports

T-Mobile USA has signed an agreement with Boingo Wireless to allow access to WiFi hotspots for users. The agreement covers both laptops and WiFi-enabled handheld devices, Boingo Wireless has stated.

- Alert) Hotspot and postpaid mobile broadband subscribers will now have WiFi access at no additional charge at 53 Boingo airport locations in the United States and Canada with this agreement. This includes major airports in the New York and Chicago metropolitan areas, the company has stated in a press release.
With Boingo (News - Alert), it’s easy to get online at more than 200,000 hotspots worldwide – including hundreds of airports, thousands of hotels, and tens of thousands of cafes and coffee shops.

- Alert) access to a larger, collective footprint,” said Colby Goff, senior vice president of strategy for Boingo Wireless. “We pride ourselves in listening to our customers and giving them access to WiFi when and where they need it. Boingo users can now enjoy connectivity at airport lounges – a top request – and we welcome T-Mobile subscribers to our airport.”
Along with expanded access at T-Mobile HotSpot airline club and hotel locations, Boingo subscribers will have continued WiFi access at T-Mobile Hotspot airport locations. This includes the airline clubs of American Airlines, United Airlines, U.S. Airways and Delta Airlines and Hyatt hotels. Boingo users can log on to Boingo Network locations that include the top airports around the world, major hotel chains, cafés and coffee shops, restaurants, convention centers and metropolitan hot zones.
Recently, the company entered into a network roaming agreement with China Telecommunications Corporation in order to enable its customers to get WiFi hotspots in almost every important place across Chinese mainland. The partnership with China Telecom (News
