CA Intros ARCserve Backup Support for Windows Essential Business Server

CA, Inc. reportedly has announced the availability of CA ARCserve Backup for Windows Essential Business Server 2008.
The product is integrated with the EBS centralized administration console and helps Microsoft (News - Alert) customers manage data growth in their organization. This helps in maintaining business continuity, disaster recovery and meeting regulatory requirements.
According to Adam Famularo, senior vice president and general manager for CA’s (News - Alert) Recovery Management and Data Modeling Business Unit, mid-market IT teams are feeling the strain of providing critical data protection to their organizations with limited staff and resources.
“CA ARCserve Backup provides the high-caliber backup and recovery they need, and simplifies administration through integration with the EBS console,” Famularo said.
Tim Dreyling, Information Systems Manager at WASSER Studios complemented CA ARCserve Backup and EBS, said his organization can pinpoint historical information down to an exact tape making it available for rapid response to customers’ requests. The combined solution has enhanced the customer service of his organization besides increasing productivity levels, Dreyling said.
According to Eric Kidd, general manager of Windows Server Division at Microsoft Corp. the software giant’s midmarket customers were happy about using EBS to increase the manageability and reliability of their IT systems.
“We are pleased to support CA’s ARCserve Backup for Windows Essential Business Server as it provides important, integrated data protection capabilities to help customers achieve these goals,” Kidd said.
CA ARC serve Backup for EBS is a solution which can meet unique data protection requirements of a standardized multi-server computing environment. It helps customers reduce backup windows and data recovery times. It also offers protection for Windows Server 2008, Microsoft Exchange and SQL Server besides having disaster recovery capabilities.
The solution can be bought, installed, configured and managed easily and it simplifies data protection tasks by integrating with Windows EBS Administration Console. The solution can grow according to the customers’ environment owing to its high flexibility thereby saving on replacements while upgrading.
CA ARCserve offers same day support for Windows EBS besides offering CA ARCserve Backup for Microsoft Small Business Server which is a custom package for SMBs. It includes all the methodologies required to protect the SBS data said the company.
