Syclo's Mobile Application Development Toolset Available on Eclipse

Syclo has announced its mobile application development toolset will now be available as a plug-in for the industry-standard Eclipse software platform.

This improvement when combined with several new features and usability enhancements is expected to result in shorter training times and easier software development for Syclo’s customers and partners.

An open development platform, Eclipse comprises extensible application frameworks, tools and runtimes for software development and management. Eclipse is popular for its flexibility, Java development tooling and versatility. By becoming a part of the platform, Syclo’s Agentry Editor will complement its sophisticated development tools with features including graphical mapping of application components, a connector studio and referential integrity checking.

Syclo explains that through the graphical mapping of application components, developers are able to better analyze the business logic of a particular application by accessing visual maps of relationships, sequences of actions and component properties.

Syclo’s new connector studio eliminates the need to define new objects and transactions every time they need to be created and developers can take the service-oriented architecture (SOA) approach of creating and defining these application components from Web services and other external data sources.

According to Syclo Executive Vice President of Software Engineering, Paul Chiapuris, making the Agentry Editor available on Eclipse is a great step for their company. He explained that this move will include many new tools and features that are designed to provide faster and more reliable development while keeping the big picture and business issues in mind. Chiapuris said that Agentry Editor is one of the most intuitive mobile application development tools on the market and using it in conjunction with Eclipse’s built-in tools and powerful personalization capabilities will make it even better.

Syclo helps organizations with mobile workforces that must streamline workflow and improve productivity. The company delivers quick ROI by offering rapidly deployable mobile software applications built on a 100 percent configurable mobile Agentry platform. The company recently announced that its Agentry 5.0 Server software is now compatible with UNIX, Linux and 64-bit Windows.

The UNIX / Linux and 64-bit Windows additions will allow Syclo customers to support more than 20 times the number of simultaneous users and transactions on comparable hardware.
