IKANO Uses Cybercom for Microsoft Office SharePoint Server

Cybercom was summoned by IKANO Finance Management to seek ways to add the Microsoft (News - Alert) Office SharePoint Server as a new platform to its communication, co-operation, and process control.

The Cybercom Group is a high-tech consultancy that offers global sourcing for end-to-end solutions. It is a supplier for portals, mobile solutions, embedded systems, e-commerce, and business support systems. With their expertise, Cybercom can offer strategic and technological expertise to markets like telecom, Internet, media, banking and financial services, automotive, national defense and the public sector.

IKANO is a family owned group that was launched in 1988 as a spin-off from IKEA and it is a provider of IP solutions including Internet access, billing, customer support, hosting, portal, and email services. Right now, IKANO operates in several European countries (most intensely in Scandinavia). Located in Luxembourg, IKANO S.A. is IKANO Finance Management's parent company.

"Openness and clear direction characterize our partnership with IKANO Finance Management," says Göran Lawesson, business solutions division manager, Cybercom Sweden South. "In this project, our specialists demonstrated the benefits that organizations like IKANO can really reap via SharePoint".

Organizations can use the Office SharePoint Server 2007 to facilitate collaboration, provide content management features, implement business processes, and supply access to information that is essential to organizational goals and processes. They can quickly create SharePoint sites that support specific content publishing, content management, records management, or business intelligence needs and can also conduct effective searches for people, documents, and data, participate in forms-driven business processes, and access and analyze large amounts of business data.

IKANO has decided to enhance internal communications throughout the company to strengthen its corporate identity. In doing so, IKANO selected the Microsoft Office SharePoint Server as a platform and Cybercom as an implementation partner.

IKANO intends to use the SharePoint standard functions mainly for document and task management, wikis, and web publishing. It also claims that a joint platform for projects and collaboration (as per the PPS method) forms a solid foundation for efficiently running various national and international projects.

They are already using the SharePoint Intranet along with Microsoft Exchange 2007 E-mail and BlackBerry (News - Alert) Enterprise Services to provide services to help small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs) and organizations to better utilize web-based communications just the same as large organizations.
